FUNK REMAINZ VOL. 1 — WORKSHOP NIGHT

FUNK REMAINZ VOL. 1 — WORKSHOP NIGHT

Thursday, July 17 | 5:30–9:30PM
CSU Lory Student Center, Room 396

[Register – spots are limited!]

This isn’t just a night of classes — it’s a full-on experience with three powerhouse educators, each carrying the weight of culture, legacy, and lived experience. Whether you’re brand new or 10 years in, we’re about to get the funked down!!

🔶 Waacking w/ Elise Silva | 5:45–6:45PM | Free

Elise’s story begins in salsa and breaking, but her artistry expanded in NYC where club styles like waacking and house shaped her freestyle. She blends grace and fire, with a sharp eye for rhythm and story. A member of Street Stylez Crew and Queenz of Hip-Hop, Elise invites you into a space of self-expression that’s both technical and soulful.

🔶 Funk Grooves + Locking w/ Kevin “K.O.” O’Keefe | 7:00–8:00PM | Free

K.O. is one of Colorado’s original Hip-Hop educators, trained by legends like Rennie Harris, Don Campbellock Jr., and the Electric Boogaloos. He’s performed across the world and has helped shape the foundation of street dance education across the state. His workshops bring history alive while keeping the vibe light, funky, and full of energy.

🔶 Popping w/ My-Linh Le | 8:15–9:15PM | $20

My-Linh is the first woman to rep the legendary Playboyz Inc., with 20+ years of global experience in street dance culture. Her teaching is deeply rooted in the foundations of popping and boogaloo, offering groove drills, battle prep, and cultural insight that will elevate your entire approach to the style. One of the realest doing it.

📝 Early registration is highly encouraged — especially for My-Linh’s popping workshop, which has limited capacity.

💳 Pay in advance or in person

This night is built for the culture. Don’t miss it.
